JOB TITLE: Piano Technician

JOB SUMMARY
The School of Music’s professional piano technician maintains a regular schedule of tuning, maintenance, repair and rebuilding of the piano inventory that includes four concert and approximately 100 studio, classroom, and practice room pianos. Responsible for maintaining an inventory of pianos and repair parts and work with faculty, guest artists, directors of visiting music workshops and institutes, and the Facilities Coordinator to arrange tunings and accommodate special needs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Tune, voice, and regulate four concert instruments.
Tune, voice and regulate instrument in faculty studios, classrooms, and practice rooms.
Perform maintenance and repair of instruments as needed.
Improve and upgrade replacement parts.
Rebuild instruments.
Scheduling, correspondences and other related office duties.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, AND SKILLS
Specialized training beyond high school and certification as a Registered Piano Technician.
EXPERIENCE
Four years of experience. Additional experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements.
