JOB SUMMARY
The employee will coordinate and direct pre-assessment questionnaires to industries requesting technical assistance. Will conduct and perform on-site P2 assessments as requested by Commonwealth firms. Will design and justify effective P2 projects, which will require significant analysis and documentation. Will provide technical and economic feasibility studies, physical implementation ideas, and testing and evaluating options. Develop, deliver and evaluate industry and waste-specific training programs selected on the basis of identified needs by industry. Will provide oversight of applied research projects, which entail lab work analysis, testing and materials analysis, cost analysis and demonstrations on projects and technologies to help Commonwealth firms evaluate and implement pollution prevention opportunities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
Provide technical assistance for client requests pertaining to pollution prevention topics and assist with PQ related special projects.
Conduct pollution prevention (P2) assessments for Kentucky industries, businesses and organizations to identify and recommend P2 opportunities.
Prepare technical reports detailing the assessment results consistent with P2 program services objectives.
Assist in development and maintenance of the P2 service program and maintain performance metrics of activity, behaviorial and outcome based measures of delivered services.
Assist in developing and delivering training and workshops that address pollution prevention concepts.
Identify and assist with securing funding opportunities from federal, state and local government agencies.
Provide oversight of P2 applied research projects which entail lab work and analysis, testing and materials analysis, cost analysis and demonstrations on projects and technologies to evaluate and implement pollution prevention opportunities.
Provide technical support of the energy efficiency (E2) assessment service model.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
EXPERIENCE
Three years of related environmental regulatory experience, preferably in a manufacturing industry.
