Job Title: Social Worker I
Class Code: 000507   Grade: EC

Job Summary

Interview and counsel patients and families to provide treatment for problems related to environmental stress, physical illness, and interpersonal conflicts.

Duties and Responsibilities

Interview patients and families and obtain case histories.

Interpret information and prepare written summaries for clinical records.

Evaluate background information and psychological data to select appropriate method of treatment.

Consult and coordinate with other clinical staff to assess individual patient needs.

Act as liaison and coordinate patient services offered in the University and in community agencies.

Conduct group and individual therapy for patients and families.

Prepare and maintain case reports and clinical records.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Training and Skills

Master's degree in Social Work. State licensure as a Certified Social Worker (LCSW) may be required.
