JOB SUMMARY

Participate in the design, execution, and control of laboratory research studies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform critical analyses of literature relevant to research undertaken.

Conduct and coordinate experimental tests and plan the processing and analysis of research data.

Design and oversee the construction of laboratory equipment.

Develop and test experimental designs, sampling techniques, and analytical methods and make recommendations for their utilization.

Organize data search and analysis procedures.

Participate in the planning and development of general goals for the research project and laboratory and/or fieldwork.

Assist in the preparation of research papers and manuscripts for publication and presentation at conferences and workshops.

Assist in the design and implementation of complex data processing systems to code data and prepare comprehensive reports on systems studies.

Assist in the establishment of test controls, criteria, and research standards.

May instruct professional or graduate students in laboratory procedures.

May develop and/or revise existing research methodologies.

Perform related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND SKILLS

Master's degree in related field of Science.

An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.

EXPERIENCE

Two years of Research experience.  May require professional certification.
