Coordinate co-op program and career services for assigned engineering disciplines, teach co-op seminars, participate in research to maintain current programs, and serve as backup support for director.
Duties and Responsibilities
Employee Training – Develop training materials. Plan, coordinate and conduct initial as well as periodic update training of departmental/foundation staff and managers on university and departmental procedures, processes, best practices theory, etc. Develop and conduct departmental employee orientation.
Policies & Procedures – Assist Administrative Manager with development and implementation of departmental/foundation policies and procedures. Assist with writing policies and procedures manuals for staff and supervisors/managers. Change and update manuals as needed.
Emergency Action Plans – Work with site managers to develop emergency action plans and writing of employee manuals and updating manuals as needed. Conduct initial hire emergency training and periodic review training for emergency procedures at all departmental sites.
HR Knowledge & Certification – Responsible for self development in maintaining up to date knowledge of current and existing HR laws and best practices through continuing education and development by availing self of reading materials, free seminars and conferences, etc. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of University policies, procedures, and practices. Utilize the guidance of University HR staff as appropriate. Maintain active HR certification (PHR or SPHR).
Employment Procedures – Provide back up and cross coverage for Program Coordinator Senior position in processing all steps of position management and recruitment. Maintain updated knowledge of all UofL HR systems and department HR spreadsheets, databases, etc.
Benefits – Assist Administrative Manager with developing, evaluating, and maintaining benefits programs for foundation employees and conducting training, sending notices, etc. for university/foundation employees.
Administrative Assistance – Assist Administrative Manager as requested with employee grievances, complaints, problems, etc. Assist with assessment of program goals.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Training and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field. PHR or SPHR Certification.
Three years of related experience. Additional experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements.
