JOB SUMMARY

Design, fabricate, inspect, repair, modify, and/or control laboratory and research equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assemble, calibrate, modify, repair, maintain, and operate equipment for teaching, laboratory, and research projects.

Demonstrate the use of and supervise the operation of electronic and mechanical equipment.

Operate and/or assist in the operation of various machine tools.

Assist in the design and construction of experimental models, modification of existing machines, and selection of materials and components.

Assist in recommending equipment and instruments for purchase.

Maintain an inventory of all departmental equipment, furnishings, and supplies.

Assist instructors in classrooms and laboratory demonstrations.

Perform related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, AND SKILLS

Associate's degree or two years of college or technical school.

EXPERIENCE

Two years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
