JOB TITLE:  Dental Equipment & General Maintenance Technician

JOB SUMMARY

Serve as assistant to the Dental Equipment Technician, Senior , as a combination dental equipment technician trainee and a general maintenance mechanic. Learn to repair all types of dental equipment (dental chairs, units, lights, handpieces, instruments); respond to all types of general maintenance repair needs of the School.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

Perform preventive maintenance, under the supervision and training of the Dental Equipment Technician, Senior, on all dental equipment according to a schedule .

Remove and install new dental equipment.

Clean, repair and replace various makes and models of equipment such as chairs, microscopes, x-ray units, dental units, dental lights, air/gas/vacuum lines and valves.

Complete purchase orders and requests for supplies and equipment as needed.

Respond to emergency and routine repair situations in the School. Troubleshoot and make minor repairs to environmental, plumbing and electrical systems as able.

Operate various electric hand tools, drills, saws, drain augers, etc. Assist School's Dental Equipment Technician, Senior (Facilities Manager) in a variety of building activities (setting up tables for events, moving heavy equipment, transporting office furniture/computers from room to room).

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS

High school diploma 

EXPERIENCE

Five years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
