Job Title: Biostatistician III

This position will collaborate with biomedical researchers in designing, implementing and publishing results from biomedical research projects. This project assumes primary responsibilities for writing statistical design, methods and analysis for research proposals. Duties include assisting in the development of research objectives, primary responsibility for designing sampling, randomization and data collections procedures to achieve study objectives; writing statistical computer programs and reviewing computer output for consistency and quality; designing tables and statistical procedures; writing results section of reports and publications; serve on research project committees; supervise project personnel, coordinate project’s quality control efforts; develop and implement new innovate procedures in the area of data collection, quality control, presentation of analyses, and statistical analysis. Will supervise Biostatisticians I and II and Analyst/Programmers serving on research projects. Must have experience in analyzing data using statistical packages; organizing data and communicating statistical concepts to non-statisticians; and writing statistical considerations for grant proposals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assume major responsibility in research projects; ie, serving on committees, supervisor of project personnel, and coordinator of quality control efforts. Develop statistical design and planned analyses for research grants proposals and take primary responsibility for writing the statistical design, including sampling size and statistical consideration in grant proposals for research faculty. Write the results section of reports and publications.
Develop and implement new innovative procedures in the areas of the data collections, quality control presentation of results and statistical analyses. Design tables and statistical procedures for specific research studies.
Supervise the work of Biostatisticians I and II and analyst/programmers on research projects.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described above.
Expand knowledge of statistical methods and software for training and operational use.
Knowledge, Training and Skills
Master's degree in Biostatistics, statistics or a related field.
Three years of related experience is required.
