Professional / Administrative Job Specification 

JOB TITLE:               Associate Director Community Relations

CLASS CODE:          001534           


Administer, direct, and implement urban diversity initiative programs in diverse areas of the greater metropolitan Louisville area.


Serve as Co-Project Coordinator with the Executive Director, Metroversity for the pilot project, Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC).  Provide assistance to faculty participating in the project.

Assist in the development of cross-cultural training sessions and programmatic development for professional, Para-professional staff and students; co-teaching diversity courses.  Assess and evaluate programs efforts.  Facilitate affirmative action policy and guidelines and adherence to policies.

Serve as liaison to diverse multicultural community groups and agencies.  Design and implement multicultural/diversity workshops, seminars, course sections, classroom presentations, staff development for the University and community agencies.

Co-chair of The Study of Women and Global Issues committee of COSW.  Co-chair of UofL Diversity committee.

Serve as primary curator of “The Linda L. Wilson Municipal College (LMC) collection” which is housed in Ekstrom Library Archives.  Chair and convener of the UofL Diversity committee’s The Children’s Literature Library project.


Master’s degree in Student Personnel Development, Higher Education Administration or related areas.


Six years of related experience with administrative and higher education administrative experience.  An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
