JOB SUMMARY

Coordinate and provide technical assistance and consultation to Health Sciences Center departments as well as patient treatment and clinic areas.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

Provide consultation service for design, repair and/or implementation of research, diagnostic, patient care and computer interfaced equipment to departments.

Design, construct and test electronic circuits.

Inspect, calibrate, troubleshoot and repair a wide range of complex electronic equipment.

Evaluate the need for and recommend the purchase of equipment, instruments and supplies; maintain the Electronics Shop inventory.

Confer with service engineers concerning instrumentation problems.

Supervise the work of Electronics Technicians within Electronics Shop.

Operate complex electronic instruments and equipment.

Implement preventive maintenance on designated equipment.

Maintain appropriate records for the Electronics Shop.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS

Associate's degree in Electronics or two years of post-high school technical electronic training

EXPERIENCE

Six years of experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
