JOB TITLE:    Biomedical Engineer, Sr.

JOB SUMMARY

Prepare and analyze blood specimens for clinical testing.  Prepare result, give reports and maintain equipment and supplies.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Preparation of samples for analysis.

Analysis of samples using laser flow cytometry.

Analysis of samples using FISH assay.

Preparation and maintenance of chemical reagent stocks, supplies and daily quality control of instruments, as well as maintaining DEHS/MSDS reports on all chemical reagents.

Coordinate research projects, and assist in training.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS

Bachelor’s degree in Biology or Chemistry.  Certification in flow cytometry by the American Society of Clinical Pathology.  Requires maintenance of 30 hours of Continuing Medical Education credits every five years.

EXPERIENCE

Six years related experience.  An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
