JOB SUMMARY

Supervise day-to-day operation of mass spectrometers at the Lab.  Assists faculty in planning of instrument utilization, directs staff in instrument operation, and oversees maintenance.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee the mass spectral instrumentation at the Mass Spectrometry Core Laboratory.

Develop, perform and supervise sample preparation for analysis.

Develop, perform and supervise qualitative or quantitative analysis.

Assure quality of data for efficient completion of analytical objectives.

Report results of analysis and archive data as required by project plans according to project needs.

Meet with Director and faculty for project planning, ongoing review, and completion.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS

Ph.D in a related field

EXPERIENCE

Four years of related experience in the fields of Mass Spectrometry, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Biochemistry and/or Organic Chemistry.
