JOB TITLE: Director, Dahlem Supercomputer Laboratory

Direct the operational, financial, and personnel activities related to the Dahlem Supercomputer Laboratory and facilities for instructional and research activities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct the business and technical activities that assure the operational availability of the supercomputer for instructional, research, and industrial technology transfer. Consult and coordinate with users to determine specific needs and partition supercomputer resources according to priorities and time constraints.
Provide technical supercomputer assistance to university faculty and other university researchers in the development of supercomputer expertise for research. Plan the scheduling of, and implement the delivery of, seminars and workshops on supercomputing.
Serve as supercomputer technical liaison within Speed School with Information Technology, vendor representatives, and maintenance service contract personnel.
Develop, implement and review operational policies, standards and procedures. Plan and supervise the preparation and distribution of documentation.
Develop and promote the Dahlem Laboratories relationship with faculty, students, and industry supercomputer users by maintaining excellent service levels and customer satisfaction.
Develop and maintain a cooperative relationship between this facility and the Supercomputing Center at the University of Kentucky.
Supervise, schedule, and coordinate work assignments for support staff and student workers.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS
Master's degree in Computer Science, or related field of engineering.
Ten years of related experience.
