JOB TITLE: VPFA Application Systems Analyst

JOB SUMMARY
Provide computer support for both hardware and software to the various departments within the area of Vice President for Finance and Administration.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide resolutions to computer system problems for units reporting to the VPFA. Assist in project control, including time and cost estimates and programming coordination. Provide the various departments any ad hoc computer needs. Assist the departments in the development of internal standards and procedures relating to computing systems.
Serve as liaison to Information Technology, for VPFA. Work within departments to define, refine, and meet stated standards.
Prepare budget estimates and management plans for projects upon consultation with the users to determine specific needs, available resources, priorities, and time constraints.
Investigate problem areas within VPFA and recommend ways to improve productivity and provide more efficient services. Provide technical consulting on projects, formulating and defining project scope and objectives.
Develop, acquire, and implement hardware and software for computer operations. Consult with vendors concerning equipment procurement, installation, and maintenance.
Develop for the VPFA area units; long range and short term service plans. Coordinate the planning with IT.
Analyze and recommend revisions to existing systems within VPFA. Provide detailed specifications regarding these recommendations and work with the departments to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS
Master's degree in Computer Science, or related field
EXPERIENCE
Seven years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
