JOB TITLE: Institutional Review Board Manager

Serve as Institutional Review Board (IRB) Manager for the University Human Studies Committee assuring University compliance with the Department of Health and Human Services. Manage the financial resources and personnel of the Human Studies Committee.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
Ensure that human subject protections in research at U of L, U of L Hospital, and Norton Healthcare System are followed.
Review all protocols submitted for approval and indicate to the Chair any possible problems, issues or needed revisions in the study protocol and consent.
Oversee the operation of the University Human Studies Committee office including the budget and personnel concerns.
Develop and conduct workshops on the protection of human subjects in research.
Attend meetings and develop strategies for efficient management of the regulatory committee.
Develop internal operating policies and procedures.
Gather, review, and analyze data on approved research studies.
Assist Chair of the Committee in performing study audits
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS
Bachelors degree in Business, Health Education Administration, or related field.
Six years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
