JOB SUMMARY
Coordinate all computing activities related to data base management. Plan, evaluate, consult, and advise on new data base management systems and related tools.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
Coordinate and maintain the data base infrastructure across all supported operating system platforms.
Coordinate data base activities related to installation, maintenance, and support of application software.
Coordinate the installation and maintenance of data base management systems and related software.
Monitor and tune the production data base environments by obtaining and analyzing statistics on performance and activity.
Confer with other computing personnel and customers to evaluate needs and plan strategies for data base systems and participate in the design and development of logical and physical data base structures.
Evaluate and recommend training for the programming staff in the use of the data base and related software. Assist in the technical instruction and support of other staff.
Supervise other data base analysts and programmer analysts in TQM environment.
Participate in the development of, and foster compliance with, internal standards and procedures.
Develop proficiency with tools appropriate to the assignment through training and self-education.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS
Master's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
EXPERIENCE
Ten years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
