JOB TITLE: Plumber Apprentice
CLASS CODE: 001309
Participate in a two year apprenticeship program to qualify as a Journeyman Plumber.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
Complete prescribed credit hours of technical classroom instruction.
Complete two years of shop work supervised by Journeyman Plumber. Shop work includes installation and repair of valves, faucets, traps, sinks, washbowls, sewers, vents, and other sanitary fixtures. Repair, replace and check high and low pressure steam boilers, checking safety devices and controls.
Prepare for and take state approved Journeyman Plumber license test within three months of completing classroom instruction and two years of shop work.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS
High school diploma, valid driver's license, insurable by the university's insurance carrier, police record check, employment physical, ability to meet admission requirements for Jefferson Technical College
One year of related experience.
An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
