JOB SUMMARY
Direct the overall operations of the Health Sciences Center Faculty Affairs Office.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct overall operation of the Faculty Affairs Office. Interview, hire, train, and direct supporting staff members and oversee personnel activities.
Oversee Vice President level review of triptychs for all four HSC Schools (Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, and Allied Health). Ensure administrative and academic support for the Associate VPHA/Faculty Affairs as it relates to faculty matters for all HSC schools.
Establish and implement policies and procedures for the Office of Faculty Affairs. Determine faculty member's eligibility for promotion and/or tenure. Monitor semiannual promotion and tenure reviews by informing and monitoring the follow-up of annual reviews of departmental chairs. Coordinate and ensure the documentation flow and process associated with post-tenure faculty reviews, which will occur every five years. Supervise the notification of faculty and chairs regarding promotion, appointment, tenure, termination, and change-in-status.
Compose letters for Associate VPHA/Faculty Affairs, and Dean, needed for triptychs relative to recommendations; direct and oversee the completion of all faculty records.
Respond to inquiries regarding faculty matters from, and provide guidance and direction to, departmental chairs, faculty, staff, assistant deans, associate deans, and deans. Act as liaison with administrators. Participate in meetings and seminars related to faculty matters.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS
Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field.
EXPERIENCE
Five years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
