JOB SUMMARY

As a Computer Aided Engineer, interface with Rapid Prototype Center consortium members and provide consultation to faculty and students for research in rapid prototyping technology. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

Set up Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) builds; program selective laser sintering machine for rapid prototype plastic parts. 

Design plastic parts for rapid prototyping using state-of-the-art solid modeling software systems - IDEAS and SolidWorks.

Set up SLS builds - for rapid tool steel core and cavity inserts.

Provide CAE support for funded research projects with faculty and graduate students.

Conduct reverse engineering projects using 3-D Laser Digitizer Equipment (Digibot II).

Possess a working knowledge of all other design software systems, such as Pro-E, Autocad and Cattier (IBM).

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS

Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. 

EXPERIENCE

Two years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
