JOB TITLE: Assistant to the Dean, Graduate School **
CLASS CODE: 001271  

JOB SUMMARY

Provide administrative assistance to the Dean of the Graduate School, responsible for confidential matters and files, supervise four staff members, prepare, review and authorize personnel/payroll documents, electronic requisitions and travel expense vouchers, process and approve tuition remission for the graduate fellowships, prepare annual budget, budget estimates, process expenditures, work closely with Graduate council, process student academic grievances, and graduate student fellowship awards.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

Assist Graduate Dean with daily matters involving graduate school.

Supervise four staff members.

Process and approve tuition remission for graduate fellowships; process all fellowship applications and payroll forms.

Prepare annual budget, budget estimates, process expenditures and implement budget changes.

Prepare, review and authorize personnel/payroll documents, electronic requisitions, small purchase orders and travel expense vouchers.

Work closely with Graduate Council, attend all Council meetings.

Process all graduate student academic grievances, working closely with grievance officer and grievance committee chair - extremely confidential. 

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field. 

EXPERIENCE

Four years of related experience.

An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
