JOB SUMMARY
Direct all facets of planning and production of UofL Magazine, including research, writing, proofreading, photography, design collaboration and production.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
Manage editorial content planning, coordinating input from deans and administrations. Lead magazine production team, directing the efforts of writers, graphic designers, photographers and production coordinator. Serve as a primary copywriter for the magazine and edit and proofread other writer's copy.
Serve as a contributing writer for other university publications and marketing materials.
Serve as a member of creative and project teams within University Communications and Marketing. Assist with a variety of projects related to newsletter/periodical publishing, Web communications, video, advertising, media relations and graphic identity.
Direct template development and provide ongoing input and counsel on the production of alumni periodicals through schools and colleges.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English or other communications-related field
EXPERIENCE
Five years of related experience, with experience in writing, editing, publishing and/or public relations. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
