JOB TITLE: Communications and Marketing Specialist **

Coordinates and is the primary liaison with university personnel in the development and execution of communications and marketing plans which meet departmental, school, college and university goals.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
Manage media relations on behalf of assigned units. Identify, gather and write news releases for mass media and targeted publications based on university goals.
Coordinate completion of public relations and marketing unit approaches or plans. Write materials for newsletter, magazines and other communications tools as appropriate.
Professionally counsel assigned deans, department chairs and faculty about communications and marketing goals and strategies that meet unit and university goals.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS
Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism or related field
Five years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
