JOB TITLE: Lab Operations Assistant
CLASS CODE: 001251 

JOB SUMMARY

Maintain inventory of all hardware, software and supplies in the Media, Skills Lab and Stockroom.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

Check computer, media, medical equipment and supplies in and out of stock area upon request. Keep a log of checked-out items.

May provide operational support associated with the use of electronic media/multimedia equipment, other equipment, materials and supplies. May serve as operational contact for software or hardware needs, and the use of these in classrooms, labs and other teaching environments. May oversee the maintenance of software and various applications in the Media Lab and documentation control procedures.

May type correspondence, reports and other material. May enter data into computer. Maintain logs and gather data for various lists and reports. Maintain database of videotapes. Maintain the library of reference materials kept in the Media Lab.

Maintain schedule in the Skills Lab. Order supplies necessary for courses and keep database inventory of all supplies.

Assist in monitoring stockroom inventory by performing a physical count of stock on hand. Order supplies for the entire unit. Process and verify incoming shipments.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS

High school diploma and eighteen months of technical training in electronics, Computer Science, data processing or related field.

EXPERIENCE

Two years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
