JOB TITLE: Bursar Accounting Manager

Plan, direct and maintain tasks to provide support to the daily operations of the Financial Records portion of the Bursar's Office. Assist UofL department managers with issues related to conducting university banking business. Bursar liaison to Republic Bank, Controller's Office and contracted servicers/agencies. Supervise support staff and assure that the highest quality customer service is provided to departments, faculty, students and the UofL community.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
Be responsible for supervising, directing and coordinating the financial records efforts of the Bursar's Office. Assist university accountants in determining appropriate action for banking services, reconciliation of outstanding bank items and general accounts. Arbitrate issues between Nova Information Systems (credit card processing) and accountants. Reconcile Bursar Cash Clearing, Returned Check and Inter-Account Billing Student Fees accounts.
Serve as Bursar's Office liaison to contracted university bank (currently Republic Bank). Research/resolve university outstanding bank items. Research/analyze all bank advises and/or corrections of deposits and prepare appropriate journal entries. Collect and post of foreign monies. Research and process wire transfers. Arrange approval/placement of charge equipment.
Be responsible for supervising the third-party payment/billing for student accounts. Includes a variety of local corporations, Commonwealth of Kentucky agencies, armed forces, foreign embassies, trust officers, federal agencies. etc.
Be responsible for knowledge of administration of all of the current UofL payment options. Collaborate in the development and implementation of the Bursar's Office policies and procedures, including guidelines for internal control for handling University revenues/receivables.
Be responsible for representing the Bursar's Office for Parent/Freshman Orientations. Provide training presentations as arranged by UofL Human Resources offered to Unit Business Managers regarding correct Bursar's policy and procedures.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or Higher Education.
Four years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
