JOB TITLE: Associate Bursar

Provide management support to Bursar by sharing responsibility for overall operations within the Bursar's Office. Coordinate the administration of campus-based federal loan programs, including directing of the computer-related activities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
Provide management support to Bursar. Assist in preparation of budget requests, personnel issues, reports and writing of miscellaneous proposals that are required within the Bursar's Office. Recruit, select, train, evaluate and plan work for office staff. Collaborate with Bursar to direct the planning, implementation and evaluation of the services provided by the Bursar's Office. Collaborate with administrators and/or professional staff within the University Student Services. Represent the Bursar's Office on university-wide committees, participate in professional organizations, as well as advocate for appropriate P&A staff participation. Prepare a variety of written documents/materials.
Take full responsibility for directing, supervising and coordinating the loan section. Direct and implement all functions/enhancements of the Loan Management System (LMS); develop and maintain personal skills related to LMS; and, provide training of Bursar staff in use of the system. Assist in the design and implementation of BRS/PeopleSoft systems.
Oversee compliance of campus-based federal student loan program regulations; collaborate with Director & Associate Director of Financial Aid to ensure effective utilization of loan resources; represent and make recommendations on behalf of the Bursar's office in matters related to the management of loan programs, including interpretation of federal guidelines and implementation of federal regulations.
Administer contracts, including preparation of RFP's for contracted services, for collection agencies and other vendors providing services to the Bursar's Office.
Complete special projects and other duties as required by the Bursar and/or the Controller and Treasurer.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS
Master's degree in Accounting, Business, Higher Education or a related field.
Six years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
