JOB TITLE: Building Systems Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

Provide mechanical, electrical, architectural and structural information for pre-construction and renovations projects. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

Assess, design and modify HVAC and mechanical systems, which are existing or proposed.

Coordinate activities and projects involving University personnel, contractors, vendors, manufacturers and engineering/design consultants.

Maintain blueprints, schematics and specification data related to existing and proposed University facilities.

Assess, design and modify building controls and computer automated energy management systems and operating strategies.

Provide technical design information, recommendations and prints related to renovations and modification projects.

Advises and assists University workers and contracted personnel in areas of responsibility as necessary.

Investigate, recommend and pursue cost-saving opportunities.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Valid driver's license, police record check, employment physical and must be insurable by the University's insurance carrier.

EXPERIENCE

Four years of related experience, with experience in CAD, HVAC, control applications and automation systems. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
