 JOB TITLE: Plant Operator, Assistant

JOB SUMMARY

Assist the Plant Operator in general operation and maintenance of the Steam and Chilled Water Plant functions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Make hourly tours of plant and enter readings on the plant operating log.

Check ash handling system and pull ashes from boilers no less than twice per eight hour shift.

Extract coal samples from each delivery for inspection/testing; make samples to correspond with delivery ticket.

Keep pipes, pumps, fans, valves, boilers, control panels, plant floor, and restroom facilities in a clean and orderly fashion.

Make routine adjustments to plant equipment.

Assist in all boiler plant maintenance.

Make plant log of chilled water equipment.

Clean cooling towers and prepare for start-up.

Inject water treatment chemicals as directed.

Clean and print equipment and metalwork in the plant.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, AND SKILLS

High school diploma. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.

EXPERIENCE

Two years of related experience.
