JOB TITLE:  Cabinetmaker

JOB SUMMARY

Construct, maintain, alter and repair wooden furniture, equipment and fixtures.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

Build cabinets, sashes, doors, molding trim, etc.

Operate molder and sharpener and grind knives to match mold.

Plan, drill, sand, assemble, glue and finish table, chairs, bookcases, shelves and cabinets.

Select wood and cut to proper dimensions using standard hand or power tools.

Maintain material and related work records.

Figure material, read and work from blueprints.

Direct the work of assigned helpers.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS

High school diploma. Completion of formal trades apprenticeship.

EXPERIENCE

One year of experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
