JOB TITLE:   HVAC Mechanic

JOB SUMMARY

Install, repair and troubleshoot any equipment pertaining to air conditioning and re-heating. Install and service window air conditioning, refrigeration equipment, and various other specialized equipment. Install and repair steam and chilled water systems, pumps and boilers.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

Install, repair, and troubleshoot problems on all types of air conditioning equipment from small window units through the larger central units 

Troubleshoot electrical problems associated with the systems.

Have a working knowledge of steam systems, pneumatic controls, A.H.V., pumps, chilled water systems, hot water and steam boilers, and environmental control systems. A working knowledge of heat pump systems, autoclaves, ductwork, and other special equipment is a plus.

Lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, crawl when necessary.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS

Commonwealth of Kentucky Journeyman license. Refrigerant Transition Recovery Certification Program Type I and II. Valid driver's license, insurable by University insurance carrier, police record check and employment physical.
