JOB TITLE: Support Services Assistant

Provide technical and operational support services for the University's Libraries and provide major technical maintenance to all photo-copying machines.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
Perform drafting layouts, diagrams and calculations related to Library space planning, furniture design, electrical wiring and weight-bearing capabilities.
Assist in planning renovations, alterations and rearrangement of Library space; oversee renovations to Library buildings; check work performed with drawings and stated specifications.
Inspect electronic equipment, diagnose problems and consult with appropriate representatives to provide information and authorize repairs.
Prepare plans for moving collections of materials; calculate costs to serve as basis for request for funds.
Monitor temperature and humidity levels with hygrothermograph and hygrothermometer.
Troubleshoot building maintenance problems and take remedial action to see that they are corrected.
Monitor condition of elevators on a routine basis, receive reports of problems and take appropriate action as needed.
Manage the operation of the photocopy services to include maintaining supplies, performing minor repairs, recording and analyzing statistics for machine use and depositing revenues for coin-operated machines.
Oversee the activities associated with shipping and receiving, mail distribution and supplies.
Provide full, technical repair and maintenance service for the photo-copying equipment and accompanying coin and credit card mechanism.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS
Associate's degree or two years of post-high school education in related area. Valid driver's license. Photocopier-manufacturer's maintenance and repair certificate.
