JOB TITLE: Research Assistant

CLASS CODE: 001020

JOB SUMMARY

Assist in statistical research by collecting, charting, and analyzing data, preparing and maintaining related files and records and disseminating resulting information.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Collect clinical protocols for submission to Institutional Review Board.

Collect statistical data from various local, regional, and national sources.

Assist in the compilation, input, tabulation, and analysis of data.

Prepare graphics, charts, reports, and other related materials.

Maintain data base files and records and make revisions as needed.

Assist in estimating computing requirements for research and support group projects, coordinating hardware and software, and developing and modifying computer programs as needed.

Complete patient charts as necessary.

Interview patients to complete research questionnaires.

Act as liaison with pharmaceutical companies & cooperative groups for site visits & data presentations.

Liaison with Human Studies Committee.

Perform related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, AND SKILLS

Bachelor's degree in a related field.

EXPERIENCE

Two years of experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
