JOB TITLE: Asbestos Abatement Technician

JOB SUMMARY

Following established regulations, responsible for the abatement of asbestos and similar materials.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Abate medium and small-scale projects involving asbestos and similar materials.

Build and construct containment's around existing piping and structures.

Perform glove bag abatements and required clean-ups of damaged materials.

Collect bulk samples for confirmation of asbestos in suspected material.

Ensure all equipment used for asbestos abatement is in good working order.

Maintain current inventory and submit materials requests for supplies needed for abatement.

Maintain current working knowledge of all regulations regarding the abatement of asbestos and similar materials.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, AND SKILLS

Specialized training beyond high school with a working knowledge of asbestos abatement. Certification with the Commonwealth of Kentucky by completion of an EPA approved AHERA course to qualify for asbestos abatement. Employment physical and valid driver's license required.

EXPERIENCE

Two years of related experience.
