Patient Care Coordinator

Provide administrative support to the Group Leader; serve as an advocate to patients; monitor caseloads of students; supervise assignment and scheduling of patients; assign and supervise clinical staff; perform other administrative and technical duties as necessary.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
Inform new patients of the policies and procedures of ULSD clinics.
Serve as patient advocate.
Coordinate with the Group Leader assignment of patients to students to assure timely and effective treatment. Maintain an appropriate recall system for the clinical group or finishing treatment.
Review and audit charts and other clinic data to monitor the progress of patient care and to assure timely and effective treatment. Conduct exit interviews for patients discontinued.
Coordinate the scheduling of patient appointments for students. Monitor the daily attendance and activity of students.
Execute the referral and transfer of patients to other ULSD patient care programs or providers upon the recommendation of the Group Leader.
Participate in the interview and selection of new clinic personnel
Assign and supervise clinical staff and maintain appropriate time records.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS
High school diploma or equivalent. Interpersonal, communication and time management skills needed.
Three years of experience as a dental assistant, one of which includes supervisory or leadership duties.
