JOB TITLE: Network
Services Technician III

Install and maintain data services equipment and circuitry for the University.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
Plan, advise and direct major projects, daily service orders and maintenance of all voice and data communications equipment.
Install and repair voice and data communications equipment.
Utilize complex test equipment for problem determination and installation of voice and data equipment (frequency generators, bert tester, fiber optic loss test sets, etc.).
Install and maintain University's fiber optic network including fiber splicing and layout of fiber network.
Install and maintain inter and intra building cable facilities.
Make technical recommendations to network supervisor for proper performance of all job related tasks.
Serve as primary contact for user facilities.
Act as liaison for problem determination and resolution for data and voice communications equipment.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS
Associate's degree in Data and Telecommunications field. Two years of technical training in related area.
Six years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
