JOB TITLE: Medical Office Assistant

Assist in the operations of a medical office by performing basic secretarial duties and assisting in patient care.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
Type correspondence, patient reports, EKG's, etc. from dictating equipment and handwritten copy.
Maintain confidential medical files.
Answer telephone, greet and direct visitors.
Schedule appointments, make meeting arrangements, make travel arrangements.
Assist with taking blood pressure and other vital signs.
Perform electrocardiograms, do venipunctures for lab tests as needed.
Schedule patient admissions and tests.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS
Completion of post high school Medical Office Assistant or related program
One year of related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
