JOB TITLE: Program Coordinator – Ophthalmic Training

JOB SUMMARY
To develop, initiate and supervise a two-year training program for certified ophthalmic technicians and technologists within the Department of Ophthalmology of the School of Medicine.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Organize, program and schedule all curricular elements for didactic education.
Plan, organize and schedule all clinical work experience for skill development.
Recruit and schedule faculty and potential students for program.
Audit lectures, demonstrations, and supervise practice workshops and clinical work of all subjects.
Participate in quarterly evaluation of each student.
Plan instructional improvement and learning enhancement for regular re-certification activities.
Organize, obtain and schedule JRCOMP accreditation at the end of first year.
Counsel and assist enrolled students as needed to facilitate their success.
Coordinate and attend instructional programs of resident physicians and technologist students.
Perform related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree in a related field of Science.
EXPERIENCE
Five years’ related experience in Ophthalmology. An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
