The primary responsibility of the Physical Security Coordinator is to carry out, in the most thorough and professional manner possible, the university's Tier I and physical security needs as outlined by the Director of Public Safety.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
Develop a Desk Manual related to duties and responsibilities of the Physical Security Coordinator.
Coordinate the installation and maintenance of the networked video monitoring camera systems on all university property/buildings to include the Belknap Campus, Health Sciences Center Campus, and Shelby Campus.
Coordinate all the university's security alarms, which consists of the following: surveying locations for new alarm installations, development of cost estimate for installation of system, coordinate the purchase of all equipment, overseeing all work, maintaining alarm systems files, conducting alarm system training, ordering and issuing alarm keys and coordinating repairs and yearly system inspections.
Coordinate the university's access control systems. This consists of the following: authorizing and processing all requests for access cards throughout the university, maintaining all files and records as it pertains to card access, programming and distribution of access cards, generating access control audit reports on a quarterly basis for review by departmental managers where applicable to their facility.
Coordinate the departmental Marathon Computer System. This system is responsible for monitoring all alarms (intrusion alarms, duress alarms, access controlled doors, etc.) throughout the university. This includes 5 full client site licenses for Continuum. It also requires working with Physical Plant and independent contractors on the design and implication of data collection panels located in university facilities necessary for transmitting data back to the Marathon System. Coordinate Continuum WebClient concurrent licenses for the access control and electronic door control managed by specific individual departments.

Coordinate the university’s emergency telephone program including new construction installations and existing building additions. This also involves weekly onsite surveys, maintenance, and repair of the emergency telephones.
Provide Tier1 support in cooperation with university Information Technology, VPBA Coordinator of Computer Operations, and university Tier 1 staff to install and maintain university-supported application software and network client hardware. Provide cross-training on departmental systems and participate in relevant VPBA Tier 1 meetings and support. Provide desktop support for PCs and departmental software

Associate's Degree or two years of experience in a related field.
