JOB TITLE: Position Control Analyst

Manage, oversee and direct the daily operations of the Position Control System and participate in system planning and enhancement activities. Provide technical assistance to Information Technology on Position Control System modifications and enhancements. Conduct university-wide training sessions and provide assistance on policy and procedure matters. Perform financial analysis and troubleshooting activities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
Manage, oversee and supervise the daily operations of the Position Control System. Supervise, train and evaluate Position Control support personnel. Serve in the absence of the Manager overseeing and supervising unit operations. Plan and develop annual operational schedule used by various financial offices such as Budget and Accounting to coordinate monthly and annual reporting data.
Perform in-depth analysis relating to integrated system activity between Position Control, Payroll, Financial Records System and Budget System. Identify discrepancy data and initiate adjustments where appropriate. Reconcile monthly financial activity at the account level between Position Control System and the Financial Records System and initiate adjusting entries to balance the reporting data in the systems. Prepare and initiate retroactive payroll expense transfers and initiate requests to the Controller's Office for fringe benefit cost transfers.
Identify, document and initiate request for technical support in the area of programming modifications and enhancements. Participate in major planning, development and enhancement projects impacting the financial systems at the University. Oversee and manage the integrated data interface activity between the online FRS budget transfer system and Position Control. Analyze and document areas of malfunction and provide technical assistance to Information Technology in resolving problematic technical matters. Serve as system representative at monthly VPA computer operations meetings.
Plan, design and prepare all Position Control training material and conduct university-wide training and development courses.
Provide guidance and assistance to the university community in matters relating to Position Control policies, procedures and problem resolution.
Direct and manage all Position Control fiscal year-end activities to include overseeing multiple year budgetary and expenditure data, analyzing preliminary test data, initiating and authorizing technical program changes, coordinating payroll expense transfer activity and authorizing and overseeing the budget rollover process.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.
Four year's related experiences.
An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
