JOB SUMMARY

Direct the development and maintenance of a major group of operating systems software.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Isolate system problems and determine appropriate solution.

Plan future system software to meet anticipated needs.

Evaluate, select, and implement computer operating systems software options.

Train and assist operators, programmers, and users.

Provide information to assist in management planning.

Develop standards and procedures.

Assign and review the work of other systems programmers.

Maintain technical proficiency through self education.

Perform related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND SKILLS

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.

EXPERIENCE

Six years of experience as a Systems Programmer or Computer Specialist. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
