Job Title: Assistant Director of Finance

Job Summary

Under guidelines from the Executive Director, position will plan, direct, coordinate, develop and administer the accounting, banking, budgeting, investing and other financial activities of the department and support entities. Will also develop project plans to be point person in facilities management.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop reports capable of assisting department Chairman and Executive Director in decision making and strategic planning.

Develop and maintain budgeting capabilities longer than the customary one year outlook. Budgeting should go through a three year, five year and 10 year outlook.

Recommend and track cash management strategies to the Executive Director.

Negotiate with external agencies as needed regarding contracts for services provided. Would require analyzing lease versus buy options for equipment.

Negotiate and provide project oversight for facility management.

Communicate and build relationships with division heads, faculty, supervisors, and managers regarding financial or administrative issues.

Interpret, explain, or implement policies, rules and regulations.

Develop, interview, hire, train and evaluate staff.

Recommend policies and procedures to ensure financial, operational and administrative objects are met.

Perform special projects and other ad hoc requests.

Knowledge, Training and Skills

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

Experience

Five years of related experience. Additional experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements.
