Job Title: Associate Director for Technical Assistance
Class Code: 000604  

Job Summary

Market, plan, develop, and implement the technical assistance activities of the Southern Police Institute (SPI).

Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinate on and off campus seminars; select seminar topics, generate, and evaluate curriculums, and teach selected subjects.

Manage, supervise, and coordinate the professional activities of technical assistance delivery for SPI.

Interview, select, and train continuing education instructors.

Serve as liaison to police agencies nationally in matters of technical assistance.

Manage and coordinate the cooperative arrangement between the Law Enforcement Television Network and SPI.

Perform related duties as required.

Knowledge, Training and Skills

Master's degree in Police Administration, Criminal Justice, or Criminology with specialization in law enforcement.


Six years of Police Service with experience in Investigations and Administration.

An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
