Coordinate daily operations of the Payroll Department. Interpret regulatory changes to internal/external policies and regulations and coordinate implementation as appropriate.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate daily operations of the Payroll Department to insure respective activities are accomplished according to schedule. Coordinate internal detailed activities which affect other administrative systems within the University.
Interpret regulatory changes to internal/external policies and procedures and coordinate implementation with Information Technology support staff.
Maintain a thorough understanding of the mechanics of the existing payroll processing system and how that system interacts with other related administrative systems.
Coordinate all activities associated with maintenance of the employee database.
Coordinate preparation of all transactions needed for each biweekly and monthly payroll processing cycle.
Coordinate all activities associated with fiscal and calendar year-end payroll processing, including preparation of IRS Form W-2.
Replace Payroll Manager during absences and represents the Payroll Department within the community. Serves as payroll representative on various internal committees.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND SKILLS
Bachelor's degree in business or related field. An equivalent combination of education, training ,and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
Four years of payroll experience.
