Job Summary
Diagnose and evaluate needs of children and adults with speech and language disorders; recommend and provide appropriate therapeutic treatment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Select, administer, and interpret appropriate diagnostic procedures to determine individual speech disorders.
Counsel patients and families concerning speech disorders and the social and psychological problems associated with them.
Recommend, plan and provide rehabilitation programs and therapy.
Consult other professionals and agencies regarding status and program needs of patients evaluated to provide continuity of services.
Prepare and maintain patient charts records.
Attend departmental, local, state and national meetings and conferences concerning speech pathology.
Knowledge, Training and Skills
Master's degree in Speech Pathology. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology issued by American Speech and Hearing Association. Licensure from Kentucky State Board of Examiners for Speech Pathology and Audiology.
