JOB TITLE: Electron Microscopist, Senior

Plan, direct, and supervise the operational, financial, and personnel activities of an Electron Microscopy Laboratory.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Process and prepare tissues for electron microscopy. Provide faculty and other researchers with technical advice on research and methodology relating to specific projects. Initiate and perform research using electron microscopy. Analyze literature relevant to research and develop charts, graphs, and micrography of research findings.
Coordinate and supervise the usage of electron microscopes and other laboratory equipment by faculty, staff, and students.
Supervise maintenance of electron microscope and auxiliary equipment.
Recommend new and replacement equipment and supplies as needed.
Prepare, publish, and present manuscripts and other materials relating to electron microscopy for educational and professional journals and articles.
Perform related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND SKILLS
Master's degree in Physical or Biological Science.
An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
Three years of experience in Electron Microscopy Operations.
