Professional/Administrative Job Specification 

Job Title: Assistant Director, University Career Center
Class Code: 000396  

Job Summary

Assist the Director in the direction and administration of the Career Center. Supervise and direct the staff and daily office operation of the Career Center.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide direct supervision of UCC career employment programs and services including supervision and evaluation of job development, Resume Expert computerized job referrals, on-campus recruiting and employer visits.

Work in association with Director in providing direction, supervision and management of the UCC's services, operations and programs.

Supervise, develop, implement and/or enhance UCC marketing plans, promotional materials and computerized Internet and e-mail marketing.

Assist with planning, organizing and serve as Director backup in carrying out fundraising activities for the UCC.

Develop, implement and recommend employer relations initiatives to increase employer job listings and utilization of UCC services, programs, campus recruiting, career fairs, Recruiters Club campaigns and Career Focus advertisements and reports of job hires.

Serve on Student Affairs Strategic Planning and Assessment Committees. Serve on Student Affairs and/or University search committees for administrative, professional and classified positions.

Knowledge, Training and Skills

Master's degree in College Student Personnel, Counseling, Education, Personnel Management or related field.


Four years of College Career Planning education. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
