JOB SUMMARY
Increase organ and tissue donation through public and professional education in area hospitals, teaching institutions, allied health professionals, and the general public.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Promote organ and tissue donation throughout the eye bank service area to include in-service education and organized campaigns for area hospitals.
Develop and administer a campaign to present programs to health classes in the elementary and middle schools.
Speak on behalf of the tissue donation program to civic organizations, clubs, and churches.
Participate in local area health fairs.
Develop and coordinate a support group for transplant patients.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND SKILLS
Bachelor's degree in Allied Health or related field. Certified as an Eye Bank Technician within first twelve months.
EXPERIENCE
Three years of related experience.
