Job Summary
Direct the Telecommunications Research Center (TRC) to achieve the goals of the Center in research, economic development, and education.
Duties and Responsibilities
Direct TRC to achieve the research, economic development, and education goals.
Assist researchers and other faculty in the development of telecommunications expertise for research and instruction.
Work with external organizations to apply the TRC capabilities to local, regional, and state-wide needs.
Develop and administer the annual operating budget for the TRC.
Direct the development and delivery of telecommunications related seminars and other educational programs.
Provide technical assistance to businesses and organizations in the adoption of telecommunications and related technology.
Participate in joint Economic Development activities with South Central Bell and the Cabinet for Economic Development.
Identify and recruit technology vendors for participation in the TRC.
Direct and facilitate activity in support of research at the TRC.
Supervise all TRC staff and contract instructors.
Oversee the coordination and management of the physical facility and logistical operations at Shelby Campus.
Knowledge, Training and Skills
Master's degree in Business or related field.
An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
Experience
Seven years of related experience.
