Job Title:   Admissions Processing, Coordinator

Job Summary

Manage the admissions processing area and applicant fee activities, coordinate the major print and electronic publications, provide counseling and information to prospective students, parents, counselors, community and university representatives, adjudicate and review applications for admissions.

Duties and Responsibilities

Hire, train, supervise and evaluate support staff. Plan, coordinate, and provide support for daily activities for processing admissions applications and credentials and special projects. Responsible for the development of new procedures, policies, and operation of the Admissions Processing area, including the development and management of the Procedural Manual.

Coordinate the major print and create all electronic publications. Responsible for content, writing, updates, coding, design and programming for all Admissions world wide web pages and research and development of all on-line forms and services. Working with the Publications/University Relations departments to ensure quality content and to assist in the development of special pieces to meet their recruitment needs.

Counsel current and prospective students, parents, counselors, community and university representatives seeking information/access to the University; adjudicate, and review applications for admission including the evaluation of PCC status and residency classification and making appropriate referrals.

Serve as liaison to Academic Units (specifically the School of Music, all Graduate School, School of Education and the School of Dental Sciences) to troubleshoot and correct problems when they occur, and coordinate the processing of new special groups/programs (General Electric, Family Therapy Special Groups, etc.).

Manage application fee activities, approve fee waivers, finalize outstanding payments, and perform the biweekly application fee audit of the account.

Travel and recruit potential students, develop positive working relationships with assigned schools, follow-up with particular students, and assist with large recruitment programs on campus (e.g., Campus Preview Day, etc.).

Knowledge, Training and Skills

Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Sociology or CIS.

Experience

Three years of related experience.  An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
