JOB TITLE: Assistant Registrar

Manage all of the day-to-day operations of both the Service and Processing Centers within the Registrar's Office by coordinating and setting priorities of projects and overall operational activities. Control all work flow and assign duties for the designated areas. Deal with students as well as staff problems, conferring with the Associate Registrar and Registrar as necessary. Advise and counsel students with problems and work with staff and faculty to reach mutual satisfaction. Strive to create a student-oriented service environment by improving policies and procedures.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
Manage all the daily operations of the Service and Processing Centers. Supervise and evaluate 11 full time, permanent staff and 25 student workers. Control work flow and assign duties for the certifications, registration, ID cards and student records data entry.
Coordinate work with academic and service offices to improve policies and procedures to create an improved service environment.
Oversee budget of the Registrar's Office which consists of the Registrar's Office general fund account ($752,222) and two income generating accounts -- Transcripts ($60,000) and Ids ($7,300).
Implement new initiatives directed at improving customer service and internal processing procedures.
Advise and counsel students with problems in the Registrar's Office. Work with other University offices to reach mutual satisfaction of the problem.
Order reports and enter data on Student Information System. Develop and execute statistical analysis, questionnaires, internal and external forms.
Coordinate production of student identification cards; order supplies, collect monies, schedule special groups and off-campus site production. Coordinate registration services to non-traditional groups, such as special programs, Shelby and Fort Knox and evening students.
Provide direct support and perform duties as requested by the Associate Registrar including serving on university-wide committees, and new program initiatives such as the National Student Exchange, Distance Education and the Overseas Programs.
Oversee operation of Veterans' Certification processing unit which services 527 veteran students and provide additional support when needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & SKILLS
Master's degree in Business Management, Higher Education Administration or Guidance and Counseling.
Six years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
