Job Title: Assistant Superintendent, Custodial Services

Plans, schedules and supervises housekeeping and custodial operations throughout the University. Assist in the development of work programs, procedures and policies to attain efficient custodial services.
Duties and Responsibilities
Interviews, selects, counsels and trains employees and recommends evaluation, promotion and disciplinary actions.
Coordinates custodial services with various university groups such as physical plant, superintendents, managers and directors.
Supervises the work of custodial managers, area supervisors and custodians.
Manages an area of Custodial Services to ensure the delivery of quality service to university campuses.
Assists with development of specifications for the purchase of equipment and supplies.
Maintains equipment and oversees delivery of supplies.
Inspects facilities cleaned by contract cleaning companies.
Maintains employee files.
Knowledge, Training and Skills
Bachelor's degree in industrial management, business or a related field and certification from a two-year Executive Housekeeping program.
Three year of related experience.
An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.
